An Introduction to Pottery for Beginners - Day Course

Curious about clay but don’t know where to start? We run an Introduction Day course which could change your life! - it also makes a really great gift for someone special in your life.

Make and decorate a set of pots in a day

We begin the day with coffee and a chat. During this time we will show you around the studio, explain the different techniques and some basics about firing and glazing.

Then the group of eight will be spilt in to two, one set will go to our dediacted handbuilding classroom to make press moulded plates and the other will stay in the throwing studio to have a go on the pottery wheel.

Prepare to get messy!

Time will fly and it will soon be time for a lunch break, there are lots of lovely places only five minuets away for you to re-fuel while we re-set up the studios for the afternoon.

Return to the studio for an afternoon of the other technique and then regroup at the end to share your work and thoughts about the day.
